Score 89/100 · Pierre Rovani, Wine Advocate, Feb 2004
An explosion of lilies, assorted white flowers, honeyed minerals, and pears can be found in the aromatics of the 2002 Riesling Auslese Wehlener Sonnenuhr. It is gorgeously rich, plush, fat, and densely packed with pear and apple pulp as well as hints of red fruits. This medium-bodied wine will certainly be a winner with those who crave plump Rieslings but may disappoint those who look for German wines with zest and grip.
