Score 89/100 · Drink 2004-2019, Robert Parker, Feb 2004

Rich and concentrated, the 2000 Gigondas is one of the finest produced at this estate in nearly a decade. A deep ruby/purple color is followed by a beautiful perfume of creme de cassis, cherries, pepper, and earth. Full, chewy, and long, it should drink well for 10-15 years. (a blend of 50% grenache, 30% syrah and 20% mourvedre) Full red-ruby color. Superripe aromas of crystallized red fruits and licorice. Fat and full in the mouth, with a liqueur-like sweetness. Complicating notes of tree bark and spice. Finishes with smooth tannins and noteworthy persistence. Has the volume one would expect from this vintage.
