Score 89+/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous
Bright red-ruby. Roasted red berries, game, leather and meat on the nose. Tightly wound and very intensely flavored, with a firm spine of acidity contributing to the impression of precision and grip. Very ripe suggestion of strawberry preserves. Concentrated and chewy, if a bit hard-edged on the back half. Based on the track record of this cuvee, it hard to believe this won't ultimately merit a 90-plus rating.
