Score 96/100 · Drink 1997-2027, Robert Parker, Oct 1997
There are a whopping 75 cases of the late harvest 1995 Dol'c de l'Obac. A pruny, rich curiosity, it is reminiscent of a hypothetical blend of top Italian Amarone and luxurious French Banyuls. It is extremely full-bodied, and oozing with glycerin, fruit, and extraction. The alcohol is not as high as I suspected (15.5%), and the wine is clearly meant to be drunk at the end of a meal, or with cheese. While the tiny quantities produced make this review somewhat academic, this is an amazing effort that should age beautifully for 25-30 years.
