Score 90/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Jul 2004
(made partly in barriques and bottled in April of this year) Spicy aromas of yellow fruits, nuts and acacia flower. Dense and spicy in the mouth, with a ripe peachy flavor nicely framed by vibrant acidity (actually 4.8 grams per liter here, according to Billaud, vs. around 4.0 in most of the estate's other 2002s). A fat, sweet, very satisfying Chablis , with a very long, ripe, peach-flavored finished. Clearly oaky, and yet the wood element is in harmony with the wine.
