Tasting notes
Lastly, the 2009 Barolo Fossati Case Nere Riserva 10 Anni comes from a mix of crus in La Mora and spent 24 months in French oak (30% new) followed by a shorter stint in tank. Gorgeous red and black currants, tobacco, white truffle, game, and cigar notes all define the bouquet, and it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a deep, layered mid-palate, loads of tannins, and a great finish.

The 2009 Barolo Riserva 10 Anni Fossati Case Nere is just starting to show the first signs of aromatic and flavor development as it heads into its early plateau of maturity. Dried autumn leaves, macerated cherry, tobacco, spice and licorice give the 2009 lovely complexity and nuance as it fleshes out so beautifully in the glass. This is very nicely done.
Delizioso ora.
