The 2025 Latour à Pomerol was picked September 1 to 13 and matured in 50% new oak. It has an open nose, soft red berry fruit, a little sous-bois and truffle, though it misses a bit of the drive some of the other Pomerol wines show. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannins, balanced and nicely focused, though it is not the most complex Latour à Pomerol that I have encountered on the finish. A solid rather than a remarkable Pomerol for mid-term drinking.

Darker red and black cherry fruits, tobacco, spicy wood, and classic Pomerol chocolate nuances all define the 2025 Château Latour À Pomerol, a 100% Merlot resting in 50% new barrels from eight hectares of deeper gravelly and clay soils. It's concentrated and medium to full-bodied on the palate, with a layered mid-palate and a straight, focused, yet nicely textured mouthfeel. It's going to benefit from its élevage and could be a real superstar in the vintage.

Flowers, smoke, vanilla, chocolate, black cherries, forest floor, and plums permeate the aromatic expression. The palate is creamy, refined, and long. There is a wealth of ripe fruits that are buttressed with the perfect amount of lift. Elegant, balanced, and complex, this is going to be a fabulous Pomerol with just a few years of bottle age. The wine is produced from 100% Merlot. Drink from 2029-2050.

The 2025 Latour à Pomerol is a dense, heady Pomerol. Super-ripe red fruit, mocha, spice, saddle leather and dried flowers flesh out in the glass. Soft curves frame succulent fruit through the pliant mid-palate and into the resonant finish. Latour à Pomerol is not terribly complex, but it is quite delicious.
