The 2025 La Serre was picked from September 5 to 19 and matured in 50% new oak. It has a mellow nose with open arms, strawberry and raspberry fruit, well-integrated oak, a touch of oyster shell in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly grainy tannins. Modest in depth, clean, pure and well defined, it offers an enticing marine/iodine element on the finish. Long and tender, this remains an under-the-radar Saint-Émilion that consistently punches above its weight.

A Merlot-heavy blend of 73% Merlot and 27% Cabernet Franc that's being raised in 50% new barrels, the 2025 Château La Serre has gorgeous aromatics of black raspberry, cassis, spring flowers, and tons of chalky minerality. It's medium to full-bodied on the palate, with classy integrated oak, ripe yet building tannins, and integrated acidity. It's a beautiful wine from this team that is well worth seeking out.

The 2025 La Serre is powerful and quite rustic, but also very good. A blast of dark-toned fruit, leather, spice, menthol and dried herbs adds to an impression of somber intensity. This is a decidedly burly style with incisive tannins to match. I would give it a few years post-release to soften. Tasted two times.

Bursting with aromas of sweet blackberries, cherries, mint and rose petals, the 2025 La Serre is medium- to full-bodied, supple and lively, with a fleshy core of fruit, powdery tannins and a mineral finish.
