Tasting notes
The 2025 Grand Corbin has a much more attractive nose than the previous vintage: red plum and cranberry fruit, just a touch of blueberry in the background. Whilst not complex, it is well defined, with neatly integrated oak. The palate is medium-bodied, with pliant tannins, quite fleshy and rounded. Hints of dark chocolate and mint entwine with the red fruit and it feels composed towards the finish. This is in a different league to the previous vintage and should be quite delicious once in bottle. I doubt it will require too much ageing in bottle.

A blend of 83% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 12 months in 40% new French oak with the balance in one- and two-year-old barrels, the 2025 Château Grand Corbin has a gorgeous perfume of sweet cassis and raspberries intermixed with spring flowers, violets, and spicy oak. Medium-bodied on the palate, it's balanced, focused, and incredibly precise, with fine-grained tannins and integrated acidity.
