Tasting notes
The 2025 Fourcas Hosten has a well-defined and focused bouquet with attractive blackberry, briar and light gravel scents that blossom in the glass. One glass suggested a touch of brettanomyces, though very minor. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, layered black fruit laced with white pepper and minerals. It fans out gently on the finish, completing a well-crafted Listrac to enjoy over 10 to 15 years.

A Merlot-led blend of 54% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot, and 1% Cabernet Franc that's being raised 12 months in 35% new barrels, 45% once-used barrels, and 20% amphora, the 2025 Château Fourcas Hosten offers cassis, black cherries, graphite, and spicy wood on the nose. Medium-bodied on the palate, it has a nicely balanced, focused mouthfeel, ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish. It's one of those almost understated wines that grow on you with time in the glass.
The 2025 Fourcas Hosten is packed with crème de cassis, chocolate, new leather, licorice and lavender. Plush, voluptuous contours wrap it all together. This opulent Listrac has plenty to offer.
