The 2025 Château du Tertre was picked 8 to 22 September and matured in 40% new oak. It is cohesive and focused on the nose, plenty of graphite-infused black fruit that nudges it stylistically towards Pauillac. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with, again, quite a Pauillac-like entry thanks to that graphite edge. Well defined with satisfying length, this is a classy du Tertre, one of the best I have tasted from barrel.

A pretty, perfumed wine, the 2025 Château Du Tertre offers ample cassis and exotic blue fruits intermixed with spicy oak and herbal and floral nuances. Medium-bodied on the palate, it has fine, polished tannins, nicely integrated acidity, and remarkable purity, precision, and elegance. It's one of those underrated, complex wines that builds beautifully with time in the glass, and it might match or even exceed the 2022. Bravo.
The texture and depth are really impressive for this chateau and might be its best wine ever. Itâs medium-bodied with integrated and refined tannins, a powdery and textured mouthfeel and an endless finish. Floating on the pure fruit. 65% cabernet sauvignon, 18% merlot, 11% cabernet franc and 6% petit verdot.
The 2025 du Tertre is powerful and quite dense, but also shows more finesse than I have seen in some time. Floral overtones immediately convey elegance. Hints of blue-toned fruit, lavender, spice and sage develop over time. Polished, supple contours frame it all effortlessly. Tasted two times.
About the producer
Until recently owned by the Albada Jelgersma family (along with Giscours), Ch. du Tertre is one of the oldest estates in the region – with a history stretching back 1,000 years. Classified as a Fifth Growth, its 54 hectares of vines sit on high gravel outcrops in Margaux.
