The 2025 Dauzac is quite compact on the nose and needs aeration to unwind, revealing brambly black fruit, briar and light cedar scents, becoming more floral with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, quite fleshy on the mid-palate, approachable in style, though it does not quite deliver the same bravura finish as its Margaux brethren. Fine.

Deep purple-hued, the 2025 Château Dauzac offers up lots of smoky red and blue fruit, sappy flowers, and some background oak on the nose. Based on 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot that's resting in 50% new barriques, 40% once-used barrels, and 10% amphora, it's medium-bodied, nicely concentrated and focused, with good acidity and ripe, polished tannins. This is a solid, successful, and outstanding Margaux in the making.
The 2025 Dauzac is the victim of what I hope is a poor (and undated) sample. There's good depth, but it's hard to see much else at this stage.

There have been many changes here over the past few decades – from changing rootstock and restructuring the vineyards, to an ever-smaller selection for the Grand Vin, making Dauzac an estate to watch.
