The 2025 Château de Chantegrive is quite bold and assertive on the nose, with upfront blackberry and bilberry aromas. The palate is marked by some toasty new oak, but the centre feels a little soft and squidgy, lacking a bit of focus on the finish. I prefer the white this year.

Checking in as a blend of 52% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 3% Petit Verdot, raised in 60% one-year-old barrels, with the balance in stainless steel tanks, the 2025 Château De Chantegrive offers up loads of juicy black cherries, graphite, roasted herbs, and tobacco. Medium-bodied on the palate, it's nicely concentrated, with ripe, firm tannins and a clean finish. It checks in at 14% alcohol with a pH of 3.85 and should round into shape with just short-term cellaring.
Lots of dark fruit, medium- to full-bodied, with firm tannins complemented by a thread of dark fruit throughout.
The 2025 Chantegrive is a very pretty wine. Floral and silky, with gorgeous fruit purity, Chantegrive has a lot to offer in 2025. I especially admire the purity of the fruit here.
