Tasting notes
Pale yellow. Cool aromas of powdered stone and menthol. Then sweeter and broad in the mouth, with highly concentrated, almost phenolic flavors of small yellow berries, pepper and minerals. I find the peppery aftertaste intriguing, but this very bright wine will need bottle aging.

Clean, fresh, lemony on the nose. Very firm and sculpted and brisk. Almost hard-carves itself on to the palate. Lots of personality. So much energy. High altitude, like Caillerets, very calcareous. Usually one of the last to be picked – a mere 35-year-old vineyard. Should be great for the long term. ‘I don’t make this wine; it makes itself if you don’t push too much, if you don’t build it.’ (JR)
