Tasting notes
Displaying a deeper, jewel-like color, the 2022 Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands comes from the Gary's, Rosellas, and Siera Mar vineyards. The nose is fantastic, offering layered, pure notes of wild berries, grenadine, fresh, pure spice, and hints of violets. The palate is open and has a cooling effect, with a stony texture, fantastic intensity, a weightless feel, and a mouthwatering mineral feel on the finish. Of the appellation wines in this vintage, this has that special sauce that takes it to the next level. It has the structure to age and is going to have a fantastically wide window to drink over the coming 15 years.

Velvety in texture, the 2022 Pinot Noir holds the ripeness of the vintage well, displaying unctuous, full-bodied flavors of dark cherry, raspberry, and blood orange while allowing enough acidity to keep it fresh and lively on the lengthy palate. Seamless but hearty tannins complete the picture, leading to a finishing touch of cinnamon and oak. The wine spent 16 months in 36% new French oak. Drink now through 2030.
Bright and pure aromas of dark cherries, toffee apples, raspberries and cedar. The palate is medium-bodied with balanced acidity, giving notes of blackberry bush, graphite and violets. Pretty and perfumed. Drink or hold.
