Dark purple. Lots of brett initially on the nose although there is some lively fruit underneath. But with time in the glass the brett-like character seemed to diminish and the wine provided succulent and interesting drinking even if the wine seems to be on the way down. (JR)

The outstanding 1990 Bandol-La Tourtine reveals a black-raspberry/cherry, earthy, spicy, herb-scented nose, deep, concentrated, moderately tannic, full-bodied flavors, and an austere yet rich, powerful finish. It will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and will keep for 15 or more years. Importer: Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, CA.
