Tasting notes
The barrel-fermented and -aged 2023 Buradòn Las Plegarias White comes from a plot that was planted with Viura in 1970 on very white soils near Ábalos. It fermented in barrels of different sizes and stainless steel with indigenous yeasts, didn't go through malolactic fermentation and was kept with the fine lees for 11 months. It has 13.5% alcohol and a pH of 3.15, reflecting contained ripeness and very good freshness. This is a big jump from the first white; there's a lot more complexity, depth and nuance, and the palate has terrific balance and a chalky and almost salty finish. It has notes of white flowers, pollen and spice, great freshness and harmony, very elegant. 1,620 bottles produced. It was bottled in September 2024.
