Tasting notes
The 2022 Mill Creek Upland is gorgeous, with a vibrant burst of roses, strawberries, mint leaf and pine. It's cool-toned and fresh, with soft textures and brisk acidity that elevate its bright red berry fruits. This wine leaves an air of confectionery spice and a pleasantly bitter twang of black currant and dark chocolate, finishing long and structured yet not forbidding.

At 1,700-feet elevation, the 2022 Mill Creek Upland Vineyard shows a mountainous tannin profile and brawny red fruit sweetened by oak spice and a touch of coconut. Densely concentrated (amplified by the addition of 20% Petit Verdot to the 80% Cabernet Sauvignon), the aromatics are shy and should evolve further, the wine hitting its stride most likely around 2030 through 2042.
Perfumed and intense, this shows violets, blue plums, spice box, licorice and peaches on the nose. Beautifully creamy, peachy and spicy, it’s full-bodied with plenty of supple tannins. Long and delicious already. 80% cabernet sauvignon and 20% petit verdot. Best after 2027.
