Altesino's flagship offering, the 1995 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, exhibits a dark plum/garnet color in addition to superb, complex aromas of dried flowers, tobacco, cedar, black fruits, earth, and truffles. It is full-bodied, with abundant tannin as well as a sweet attack, a complex, savory, expansive mid-palate, and a long finish. Altesino is one of the top producers in Brunello di Montalcino. The estate is famous for bottling the first separate Cru from the Montosoli hill, which has since become widely recognised for its distinct, elegant style of Brunello.
