Tasting notes
(15.4% alcohol): Dark red-ruby. Pungent herbal/spicy lift to the aromas of currant, licorice and menthol, plus a whiff of dark chocolate. A fine-grained midweight with restrained sweetness, moderate flesh and herbal spark to energize the middle palate. Conveys a rather wide range of ripeness but shows good clarity and length.

The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Yountville Selection shows excellent depth in its expressive red fruit, mocha, grilled herbs and licorice. Some of the intensity trails off on the finish, but this is nevertheless a very well-made wine. It is best enjoyed over the next few years.
