Tasting notes
Fermented in a mix of new and used French oak barrels and concrete egg, Arkenstone's 2022 Estate Blanc is mainly Sauvignon Blanc but includes its customary small portion of Sémillon. There's a slightly waxy scent, giving a luxurious veneer to the quince, pear and fig fruit, while this medium- to full-bodied wine is plush and round in the mouth, generous and ripe-tasting, and almost honeyed on the long finish.

Based on 94% Sauvignon Blanc and 6% Semillon, aged 11 months in French oak and concrete, the 2022 Arkenstone Blanc is medium-bodied and beautifully fresh, showing terrific purity in its ripe orchard fruits, orange blossom, and chalky mineral nuances. Clean, lively, and focused, with outstanding minerality and precision, it's a classy and elegant white that's going to evolve gracefully over the coming decade or more. Give bottles a year or three if you can.
