Tasting notes
Medicinal herbs take the fore in the 2019 Barolo Boscareto, which is a rich red color and opens to notes of chinato, menthol, dried tobacco, and dried cherries. Medium to full-bodied, it expands on the palate, with ripe tannins that have a good bit of grip, fresh acidity, and a balanced finish. It’s another classic wine with a savory style to drink over the next 6-8 years.

The 2019 Barolo Boscareto is one of the most beautiful, expressive wines I have tasted from Ferdinando Principiano. Bright acids and veins of tannin shape this aromatic, nervy Barolo. There's more than enough depth to play off the wine's youthful austerity. Orange peel, sage, mint, tobacco, cedar and crushed red berry fruit fill out the layers. What a gorgeous wine this is.
The 2019 Barolo Boscareto is a potent Serralunga Barolo from a site adjacent to Francia. Incisive tannins and bright acids cut through a core of dark cherry fruit. Spice, menthol, sage, dried cherry, chocolate and underbrush lend notable complexity throughout. This is impressive stuff from Ferdinando Principiano.
