The 2022 Nebbiolo d'Alba Vigna Arione is a gorgeous wine that captures all the personality of this site in its floral, savory and mineral notes. Bright red-toned fruit, dried herbs, mint, white pepper and chalk are beautifully delineated. The Nebbiolo d'Alba emerges from a parcel in Arione just outside the Barolo zone that was replanted in 2017.

A bright transparent red color, the 2022 Nebbiolo D'Alba was also tasted as a barrel sample and will be bottled within a few months and released in October of 2025. It’s a fresh and inviting wine on the nose with aromas of lifted licorice, fresh cherries, roses, and fresh fennel. The palate is spicy and pure with white pepper, ripe fruit, fine tannins, and a very even feel throughout. It’s a lovely wine that should have a good deal of longevity ahead.

Giacomo Conterno is arguably Barolo’s most celebrated estate. While most famous for its Monfortino Riserva, the quality found in every bottling of Nebbiolo and Barbera at this address makes them a benchmark producer for both varieties.
