Score 95/100 · Drink 2028-2048, Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate, May 2026
The 2023 Côte-Rôtie Les Grandes Places is the inaugural vintage to include around 20% whole clusters. It matured for 22 months in barrel, including 30% new oak. Opening with aromas of violet, dark fruits, blueberry, graphite and smoke, complemented by well-judged oak, it’s medium- to full-bodied, dense and structured, beautifully balanced and layered with an enveloping core of fruit framed by fine tannins. The élevage leaves a clear imprint, yet the wine retains admirable tension and length. This is a beautifully structured Côte-Rôtie that marries the domaine’s house style with the depth and structural authority of Les Grandes Places.
