Lots of orchard fruits, orange blossom, and spicy oak define the 2018 Chardonnay Alana Vineyard, a medium-bodied, impeccably balanced Russian River Valley Chardonnay that does everything right. As with the other wines here, I love its pure, balanced, elegant character and it should have 4-5 years of prime drinking.

The 2018 Chardonnay Alana Vineyard is pretty tightly wound at this stage. Bright acids, citrus and orchard fruit are front and center. Perhaps the 2018 will soften with further time in bottle, but it is not especially forthcoming today, especially compared to the Pinots, which are so effusive. The balance here is just not as convincing.
