Tasting notes
Bright violet. Spice- and mineral-accented black and blue fruit aromas show excellent delineation and pick up suggestions of olive and candied violet with air. Sappy and well-concentrated but energetic as well, offering juicy blackberry and boysenberry flavors that become spicier as the wine stretches out. Smoothly blends power and finesse and finishes impressively long and sweet, with chewy tannins building slowly.

Opaque purple. Aromas of fresh dark berries, cherry pit, licorice, cola and cracked pepper, and a hint of gaminess in the background. Juicy and expansive on the palate, offering bitter cherry, cassis and spicecake flavors that tighten up and become spicier with aeration. Turns sweeter on the strikingly long finish, which features dusty, mounting tannins and resonating floral and smoky mineral notes.
