The medium to full-bodied 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Grown blends fruit from Coombsville, Yountville and Stags Leap. I suppose one might charitably call it "classic" in style, as it's a smooth, streamlined wine framed by dusty tannins, but it just doesn't have the concentration to entirely pull it off. Tobacco notes accent modest cherry fruit, and the wine finishes a bit astringent.
Full bottle 1,404 g. pH 3.46. 250 cases produced. Inky purple colour. Muted nose with a light earthiness. High acidity that isn't quite supported by the fruit concentration. Firm tannin. Not much fruit. (SCJ)
Blended from two estate vineyards in the southern parts of Napa Valley, the wine is aged in about 40% new oak and shows a firm, balanced structure. Supportive, fine-grained tannins wrap around pure black cherries and dark plums that are tasty and well-concentrated. Drink or hold.
