Tasting notes
Based on Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot, and some Cabernet Franc, the 2021 Château Laffitte Carcasset is medium ruby-hued, with enjoyable notes of sappy herbs, spring flowers, and earthy red and black fruits. It's medium-bodied, balanced, has bright yet integrated acidity, and a good finish.

The 2021 Laffitte-Carcasset is terrific. Rich and layered, with terrific depth, the 2021 has a lot to offer. Succulent red cherry fruit, orange peel, cinnamon, mint and dried flowers build effortlessly in the glass. Commendable.
The 2021 Lafitte-Carcasset is a racy, expressive Saint-Estèphe Cru Bourgois that has much to recommend it. A rush of dark cherry fruit, plum, mocha, lavender and new leather builds nicely. Medium in body and impeccably balanced, Lafitte-Carcasset has quite a bit to offer.
Cinammon spice, heavy extraction, black cherry fruits with violet edges, there is plenty to enjoy through the palate here, with weight to the tannins but the oak a little dominant, with high acidities cutting things short. Should soften further over ageing. Tasted twice, three weeks apart.
