The 2013 Barolo Conca offers a powerful and savory approach. The nose is dark and luscious with generous fruit layering and balanced intensity. That fruit is tightly knit together with important acidity and a firm tannic structure that bodes well for the future cellar aging of this Barolo from La Morra.

La Morra. Tasted blind. Lacklustre mid ruby with orange tinges. Unusual cherry and blackcurrant nose. Sweet blackcurrant palate and what looks like creamy new oak. It might just be youthful, but right now it doesn’t look a lot like Nebbiolo. (WS)
