Tasting notes
Another head-turning wine is the 2020 Ermitage Les Dionnières, an inky hued beauty that boasts a monster bouquet of black (and some blue) fruits, scorched earth, graphite, and a Graves-like cold fireplace character that emerges with time in the glass. Deep, full-bodied, and concentrated, it's a seriously good Hermitage that will benefit from 4-6 years in the cellar. I wouldn't bet against it evolving gracefully for 20+ years.

More fragrant, fresh and floral than the 2019 version, Ferraton's 2020 Ermitage Les Dionnières combines violets and red raspberries on the nose. It's medium to full-bodied, already charming, seductive and easy to drink despite still being in barrel. Very promising.
Cask sample. Full and firm with a solid tannic frame, the oak tannins adding structure. Ripe and sweet on the palate but then there’s length and focus on the finish. Needs to come together but there’s potential. (JL)
