There's some nice spice and rusticity to the 2011 Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata, along with notes of dried rose and cherry. It brings good intensity, a little old-style, but the wine is nicely evolved.

La Morra. Soft bricky ruby. Lively, spicy and fragrant. Dry, powdery texture – much ‘flatter’ on the palate than on the nose. I fear it may always be on the dry side but it is elegant in that restrained style. (JH)

La Morra. Just mid ruby with orange rim. Opulent cherry and dried-fruit nose. Much more complex and multi-layered on the palate. Long and with fine tannins. (WS)
