Tasting notes
Layered with dark fruit and essences of healthy ripe blackberry and plum, the 2019 Five is juicy, succulent and bright with dark cherry notes, oak spices and turned earth. Medium to full-bodied, the palate offers lively acidity with succulent tannins that melt away to reveal a fine, rich texture and balanced structure. This brilliant wine continues to unravel and reveal its secrets over the long, spicy, food-friendly finish. It’s at a great place now, but it will have no trouble aging for more than a decade.

The 2019 Five comes from different parcels than the Three and is matured for 19 months in 74% new oak. It offers ripe scents of black plum, blueberry and crushed violet scents with a subtle hickory note in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with fine acidity, quite weighty with a bit of backbone, fresh with the 23% Petit Verdot imparting more blue fruit towards the almost Margaux-like finish. Very fine.
