Score 87/100 · Drink 2022-2027, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2022
The 2017 Barolo is a potent, rustic wine that needs to be enjoyed sooner rather than later, before the little freshness it has now totally fades. Dried cherry fruit, tobacco, worn-in leather and dried leaves linger.

About the producer

Giacomo Borgogno & Figli
One of Piedmont’s oldest estates, Giacomo Borgogno & Figli, often known as just “Borgogno”, is archly traditional. Favouring long macerations and extended ageing in Slavonian cask, it is best known for its impressive Barolos, especially the prized late releases from its extensive library stock.
