Score 87/100 · Drink 1998-2007, Robert Parker, Jun 1997

The 1995 Zinfandel Dickerson Vineyard has more in common with a Cabernet Sauvignon than a Zinfandel. The healthy dark ruby/purple color is followed by a tight but spicy nose that suggests an exciting combination of sweet, ripe, peppery, black-cherry fruit intertwined with minerals, spice, and a vague notion of herbs. Classy, stylish, and gracefully built, this authoritatively flavored, medium-bodied Zinfandel needs another 1-2 years of cellaring; it should keep for a decade. Kudos to proprietor Joel Peterson for producing a bevy of Zinfandels that are particularly brilliant in view of the overall quality level that has emerged from this vintage. Tel. (707) 938-1960
