The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford is heady and exotic in the glass. Super-ripe black fruit, crème de cassis, chocolate, new leather, spice and espresso convey tons of textural richness. The 2015 is peaking now, but it also has enough depth to drink well for another handful of years or so.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon (Coombsville) is fabulous. A rich, powerful wine, the 2016 exudes richness and volume. Super-ripe black cherry, torrefaction, new French oak, chocolate, smoke, licorice, tobacco and incense add to the wine's virile, imposing personality. Here, too, the wine's overall balance is simply impeccable. Readers should plan on cellaring the 2015 for at least a few years. This is an especially big style for Coombsville, but it works.
