Tasting notes
From a vineyard just above the estate of Joseph Phelps, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Denali Vineyard has a mountain fruit-like vibe in its ripe cassis fruit and notes of pine forest, bay leaf, and spice-laced aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, concentrated, and beautifully textured, it’s another 2017 in the lineup that’s drinking nicely yet promises a solid 15-20 years of longevity.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Denali Vineyard reveals a very pretty perfume on the nose of lilacs, candied violets and underbrush with a core of warm blackcurrants and boysenberries plus touches of dried herbs and unsmoked cigars. Full-bodied and firmly textured, it has ripe, grainy tannins and well-played freshness, finishing long and layered.
