Medium red. High-toned aromas of raspberry and oak. Vague red fruit flavors currently overshadowed by oak notes of woodsmoke, bitter chocolate and tar. Sound acids give the wine a juicy quality. Quite oak-spicy on the back end. Also tasted: 2001 Ridgecrest Vineyards Willamette Valley, 2001 Rion Reserve Willamette Valley.
