Tasting notes
The 2017 Alteza shows the wild and ripe character from the high-altitude vineyards in Salta where the influence from the sun on the grapes is very strong. It has some roasted grape skin notes and hints of plums and black raspberries coupled with notes of smoky bacon and cured meat. It's wild and powerful. It's round, lush and full-bodied, with decadent tannins and a hedonistic finish. 2,688 bottles were filled in July 2018 after 12 months in contact with the fine lees.

A savory twist on the nose sends this to iodine and Indian-ink territory with flinty accents as well as rich plums. The palate has a deep-set plum thread and delivers a long, black-fruited finish, framed in smooth, fine tannins. Drink or hold.
