Score 86/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous
Good full red. Aromas of raspberry, bitter cherry, cassis leaf, tobacco and scotch. Expansive and fresh, with good black raspberry fruit and palate presence. But despite its texture, one is aware of the wine's rather sharp edges. Finishes with tongue coating (wood?) tannins, and seems slightly dried by its oak component.
