Brilliant red. Aromas of raspberry, pungent flowers and baking spices are enhanced by a touch of earthiness that builds with air. Silky red berry and floral pastille flavors are given spine and lift by a core of smoky minerality that adds refreshing back-end cut. Strongly repeats the floral note on a long, lively finish, where fine-grained tannins add shape and grip. Made with partially destemmed fruit and aged for nine months in large French oak vats.

Delicious, fresh strawberries, terracotta, blueberries, kola nuts, orange peel and freshly squeezed citrus. Despite the bright and expressive nose, the palate is quite serious with firm tannins and a lightly chewy finish. Drink now.

I tasted the 2017 La Bruja de Rozas from one of the most challenging vintages of recent times. The result is spectacular, but volumes are much lower. In this warmer and riper year, they also used a portion of the must without skins or stems to try to achieve a lighter wine with more freshness. It has the Rozas floral character, with a little more tannin, as I often see with warmer vintages. 35,000 bottles were produced in this vintage affected by hail, which also greatly affected this village.
