Score 88/100 · Drink 2026-2035, Neal Martin, Oct 2025
The 2021 Pommard Les Jarollières 1er Cru has quite a lifted minty bouquet, pretty and a little Oregon-like in style. It has a touch of hoisin that emerges with time, then the eucalyptus motif dominates and usurps the fruit. The palate is rounded in texture with fine acidity, but overall it feels a little overworked in the winery to perhaps compensate for shortcomings in the growing season. Consequently, it lacks some complexity and terroir expression on the finish. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
