Score 89-91/100 · Drink 2020-2030, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2017
The 2016 Pommard 1er Cru Les Argillières includes 10% whole cluster and 35% new oak. It is more introverted than Anne’s other cuvées at present, yet still nicely detailed with almost broody black fruit. The palate is structured, quite sinewy in the mouth, the tannins neatly counterbalanced by a fine thread of acidity though it clams up toward the saline, precise finish. Good potential here but it will need three or four years in bottle.
