Tasting notes
Composed of a blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Cabernet Franc and 14% Cinsault, the 2019 Leeu Passant Dry Red Wine is delicate, ripe and fresh with hints of sweet red and black fruit tones that sway with seductive floral essences and soft oak spice. Medium-bodied, the fruit is juicy and fresh, offering succulent acidity with fine-grained tannins. The wine continues to grow in complexity over the delightfully lingering and balanced finish with lovely spice notions. Bravo, this is delicious juice! Almost 7,000 bottles produced.

The 2019 Dry Red is a heritage blend of bush vine Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Cinsault (the latter used to be planted on the fringe of the Cabernet parcels). This has an attractive nose with brambly red fruit, dried earth, tobacco and rose petal scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine definition and a little more cohesion than previous vintages with a harmonious, tobacco and white pepper infused finish. Very fine.
