Produced from the second crop of Ken Wright’s personally owned parcel of vines, the 2003 Pinot Noir Savoya Vineyard displays a nose of black cherries as well as a tightly wound, bright character. This focused wine reveals flavors of blackberries and tar in its long, vivacious character. Projected maturity: 2007-2012. www.kenwrightcellars.com; tel. (800) 571-6825

Deep, dark red. Fresh crushed raspberry aroma complicated by licorice and cherry skin. Tangy and fresh in the mouth, with a ripe cherry flavor accented by exotic blood orange. Thick, fat and quite sweet, with a refreshing, mineral note focusing the fruit on the back, followed by a hint of not-unpleasant warmth.
