Tasting notes
Caramelized black cherries appear on the nose of the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate, which comes from a 6.5-acre vineyard planted in 2000 on the lower slopes of Spring Mountain, in the St. Helena AVA. It's full-bodied, supple and silky in texture yet focused and structured, with a long, softly dusty finish and a bright streak of acidity running through the wine that keeps it engaging and lively. If you are a fan of the western side of Napa Valley and winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown, this is another mailing list you may want to seriously consider (see my previous reviews of the Reserve bottling).

Starting with the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate, it’s a no-brainer purchase that offers loads of ripe darker, currant-like fruits as well as textbook Cabernet tobacco and graphite. More forward, supple, and ready to go compared to the Reserve, it’s medium to full-bodied, balanced, and has beautiful richness as well as elegance. Drink it over the coming decade.
