Score 96/100 · Drink 2022-2035, Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, Sep 2022

There are 298 cases of Fe's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, which incorporates 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Malbec, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc. A gorgeous effort, it boasts more red fruit than I expected, with ripe cherries and even a touch of raspberries, accented by subtle herb shadings, with underlying notes of loamy earth, dark chocolate and cassis. Full-bodied, it's more silky than velvety, while being fully ripe and polished, with a long-lingering finish.

A huge, opulent wine, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is a real head-turner. Blackberry jam, chocolate, licorice, spice, menthol all race across the palate. The 2019 feels very tight and in need of time in bottle to be fully expressive, but it is another impressive effort from Fe and winemaker Aaron Pott.

Even better, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is a bigger, richer wine based on 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Malbec, and the rest Cabernet Franc. Flat-out sensational notes of blackcurrants, scorched earth, tobacco, and a crushed rock-like sense of minerality define the nose, and it's full-bodied, deep, rich, and concentrated. It picks up a hint of iron with time in the glass, and while it's already accessible, it deserves 4-5 years of bottle age and will cruise for two decades or more. This is another thrilling wine from this team that readers should snatch up.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is a real bruiser. Huge swaths of tannin enshroud a core of inky dark fruit. Sweet pipe tobacco, cedar and dried herbs start to open with a bit of time in the glass. There is a lot of potential, but the 2019 is clearly embryonic.
