Tasting notes
The 2016 Pinot Noir Champ de Mars is another attractive wine in this range. While the Champ de Mars is quite pretty, it is not especially differentiated from the other wines in the range. Even so, the 2016 has gained lovely depth and texture since I tasted it from barrel last year. Time in the glass brings out an attractive range of dark red fruit flavors.

Dehlinger's 2016 Pinot Noir Champ de Mars is a very pretty wine that captures the personality of the year and character of this site to great effect. I am not sure the Champ de Mars, a blend of young vine and old vine fruit from the southeastern part of the property, is meaningfully different from the other wines in the range, but it is undoubtedly quite attractive in a lithe, gracious style that speaks to harmony above all else.
