Tasting notes
Rocking levels of cassis, graphite, smoky tobacco, and darker chocolate all shine in the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Carter Carter, a ripe and full-bodied 2023 with a round, seamless mouthfeel, sweet tannins, and a great finish. Give it a few years of bottle age and enjoy over the following two decades. Drink 2028-2048.

The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Carter is a heady, succulent wine. Black cherry, plum, chocolate, licorice and cloves are all dialed up to the maximum. This is a decidedly rich, sumptuous style, a wine that captures the essence of the house style. It will drink beautifully for the next handful of years, maybe more.
Winemaking consultant Russell Bevan blends the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Carter using barrels that didn't make the cut for inclusion in Carter's single-vineyard wines, plus a couple of other vineyard sources. Scents of licorice, black cherries, cassis, crushed stone, graphite and dried spices may all be found on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is taut in feel, despite the presence of velvety tannins.
