The whole spectrum of citrus and white tree fruit make this an extremely attractive and unusually expressive wine for this appellation. Medium-bodied with a great combination of succulence and mineral freshness at the chalky finish. The only reason that this plot isnât Puligny-Montrachet is that it was planted to fruit trees when the classification happened! Drink or hold.

From the vineyards of the Château du Puligny, the 2017 Bourgogne Blanc Le Clos du Château offers up aromas of crisp green apples, honeycomb and white flowers. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, crisp and tangy, with an incisive but open-knit profile and a saline finish.
Medium yellow. Lemon and flowers on the nose, plus a whiff of tropical fruits. Nicely concentrated Bourgogne blanc with a tactile mouthfeel and juicy lemony acidity. The yield here was lower than that of 2016, according to Brian Sieve.

Volnay’s Domaine de Montille is one of the most historic in the Côte d’Or. Founded in 1730, the property remains family-owned and run, with Etienne de Montille – the ninth generation – at the helm today.
