Full bottle (50 cl) 1,127 g. From Stéphane and Séverine Branchereau’s estate. This is toffee sweet. Toffee apple, perhaps, considering that little edge of malolactic bite that runnels the sweetness into the length rather than a broad, loose spread. Intensely sweet! Golden currants in golden syrup, liquid toffee swirls, salted caramel hedonism. Is this really under £11 a bottle?! Crazy price. (TC)

The 2018 Coteaux du Layon Chaume 1er Cru is a honeyed Chenin that fills the mouth with nectarine, peach and tropical notes. While it’s sweet, Chenin's natural sweetness keeps things balanced and fresh on the medium-length finish.
